Which sounds a lot more polished than what actually happened. In reality, it involved two cybersecurity professionals repeatedly refreshing DNS records, checking the website from every device we owned, and asking each other, “Can you see it yet?”
But the truth is, Breachvane Labs didn’t start on June 1st. It started years earlier.
It started after countless conversations with organizations that genuinely wanted to improve their security but didn’t know where to begin. It started after seeing small and medium-sized businesses become targets of increasingly sophisticated attacks without having the same resources, budgets, or security teams as large enterprises.
Most importantly, it started after years of working for companies where we often found ourselves saying:
“There has to be a better way to do this.”
Sometimes that meant rushed engagements. Sometimes it meant reports that checked compliance boxes but didn’t actually help the customer. Sometimes it meant treating clients like project numbers instead of long-term partners.
We knew we wanted to build something different. Not another cybersecurity company. The cybersecurity company we wished existed.
